TOPIC 1 Knowledge for policy

Why are contaminants of emerging concern important for policymakers? What are known bottlenecks and challenges? Abstracts on the state of the art on knowledge and research on contaminants of emerging concern in relation to policy making (sources, behavior, toxicity, monitoring data, risk assessment, threshold values and framework, impact on receptors, costs, .?..). What are knowledge gaps and which gaps are prior or urgent?

TOPIC 2 Awareness raising

How can we raise awareness amongst stakeholders and how can we convince them to take action (sensibilization, prevention, monitoring, knowledge dissemination, measures, …)? What kind of communication is needed? Which questions are relevant for the stakeholders?

TOPIC 3 Liability issues

What are possible liabilities related to contaminants of emerging concern? What is their impact? Is the juridical framework appropriate to deal with these “new” parameters?
